After launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 earlier this year, the sci-fi action game Stellar Blade is set to expand its horizons. Shift Up, the South Korean studio behind the title, recently revealed plans to release a PC port in 2025 during an investor Q&A following its latest financial report.

The studio highlighted the importance of Valve’s Steam platform in the AAA gaming market, citing the recent success of Black Myth: Wukong as a prime example. The Chinese action RPG became the biggest single-player launch in Steam’s history, suggesting a lucrative opportunity for Stellar Blade on PC. Shift Up even speculated that the game’s financial performance on PC could surpass its console success, with the PS5 version already surpassing 1 million copies sold by June.

A PC release would not only introduce Stellar Blade to millions of new players but also open the door to a vibrant modding community, potentially transforming the Soulslike experience. Meanwhile, Shift Up continues to enhance the game on its original platform. On November 20, a crossover DLC with Nier: Automata drops, bringing additional outfits for protagonist Eve and introducing a long-awaited photo mode. The free update will also include combat tweaks, new settings, and other features to refine the experience further.

While Stellar Blade may not be a top contender for Game of the Year, its fluid combat, stunning visuals, and old-school charm have solidified it as a standout debut for Shift Up. The studio has already hinted at a sequel, making it clear that Stellar Blade is just the beginning for this burgeoning franchise.
